CHVBC Welcomes New Coach, Kristen Rott!

CHVBC is excited to welcome Kristen (Forristall) Rott as a technical advisor specializing in Middle Hitters and also as a recruiting coordinator for the 2012-2013 season. She brings 8 years of experience with collegiate athletics to the club.  Her experience spans a wide range including former D1 athlete in both basketball and volleyball, Division 1 coaching and administrative support.

As a prep for Oregon City High School, Kristen began playing volleyball and lead her team to the state tournament in her Sophomore, Junior, and Senior seasons. She also played basketball for the school, taking her team to four state championships.  In her senior year, she was named Oregon’s Gatorade State Basketball Player of the Year and honored as a McDonald’s All-American.

As a collegiate athlete, she was a letter winner in both volleyball and basketball for the University of Oregon.  She ended her volleyball career ranked top 10 all-time for UO hitting categories for a career (second, .316) and season (fourth, .324, 2008; eighth, .305, 2007), and also stood eighth for UO all-time in block assists in a season (eighth, 113, 2008).

Her presence helped the Ducks advance to the NCAA regional in back-to-back seasons for the first time in school history. As a junior, she led the team in blocks (117, 1.04 blocks/set) and ranked second in hitting (.305), while as a senior, she ranked second in both hitting (.324) and blocks (120, 0.99 b/s).

As a graduate student in 2010-11, she worked with the University of Oregon as an assistant volleyball coach. The Ducks went 19-11 in 2010, including a 7-11 record in the formidable Pac-10 Conference. In August 2011, she was hired as an assistant volleyball coach for the University of Pennsylvania. Her key responsibility for the Quakers was instructing middles with blocking footwork, offensive attack, arm swing, and game strategy.

Currently, she holds an administrative position with the Athletic Department at the University of Pennsylvania where she supports 9 sports with clerical operations pertaining to recruiting, travel, and special events.

Welcome to CHVBC, Kristen!!!
