CHVBC Eagles
CHVBC Eagles at the AAU Grand Prix

CHVBC wrapped up it’s season at the AAU Grand Prix in Lancaster, PA.  The teams had a quick turnaround from NEQ, but performed well again, picking up wins against competition from all over the Northeast.  Congrats to all of our teams on a GREAT season!  Here is a recap of each team’s performance:

18 BLACK
Coach Ori shuffled the lineups to feature several players for college coaches.  The team responded with two match wins after some early struggles as they adjusted to the new offensive scheme.  The team finished in the Silver Bracket, 11th overall.  Another player announced her college plans: Jessica DiProspero (Cabrini). Congratulations!

17 STORM
Storm finished 5th overall with a 4-2 record for the weekend!  After winning two matches on Day 1, the team overcame a lineup change due to injury and posted two more on Day 2.  Storm’s Gold Bracket finish was their 3rd Gold appearance of the season.

17 NITRO
Nitro played inspired volleyball at the Grand Prix posting three match wins.  They rallied for a 2-set win over Force in a heated match that required extra points (26-24, 29-27).  The team followed that performance with 3-set wins against Lehigh Valley Vortex, prevailing 15-13 in the deciding set.  The team finished 10th overall.

16 VIPERS
The Vipers posted four match wins and earned a spot in the Silver Bracket at the Grand Prix.   The team posted wins against both Fusion teams, X-Factor and CHVBC’s own Rampage.  Coach Bernie Liu concludes his second successful year with the team with a 9th place finish!

16 RAMPAGE
Without Coach Jeff Mooney, who was out due to illness, the players took it upon themselves to bring a high level of intensity.  Their effort was rewarded with three match wins over Time-Out, Warren SixPack and NOVA!  With their full lineup back in action, Rampage showcased their strong defense and aggressiveness at the net.  They finished 12th overall.

15 AVALANCHE
Coach Manny was forced to shuffle her lineups again while missing a few players due to Spring sports.  Their renewed emphasis on defense showed as players hit the floor repeatedly to fight for every point!  The team earned a spot in the Silver Bracket and finished 16th overall.

15 TEMPEST
Tempest posted four match wins on the weekend and earned a spot in the Silver Bracket.  The team was back at full strength after juggling two different offenses at the NEQ tournament.  They beat J-Stroke, Warren SixPack and two Fusion teams en route to a 10th place finish!

14 EAGLES
After a long break, the Eagles took the court featuring a new offense.  The level of improvement was substantial from their first overnight tournament and the team posted wins against Nook and Whirlwind!  They finished 16th overall.

Congrats on a great season to all of our teams!!!
